ABOUT LOVES IN HEAT 

 

Loves In Heat Records is a CA Bay Area Independent Record Label.
Originally based out of Santa Cruz it is now located in Oakland. Founded in 2006; released music by Sheena, Giraffes? Giraffes!, and Jonathan Beast & the Bathroom Floors amongst others. In addition, Loves In Heat has worked with, yet not released material by, a variety of bands since its inception including Sleepy Sun, The Vox Jaguars, Caldecott and Birds Fled From Me.

As of 2014, Loves In Heat's newest signings include Oakland based acts Field Trips and L355ONS and Santa Cruz's Hermit Convention.

Indeed, Loves In Heat Records was created when label owner/founder Hector Lee Heaviside was living out of his van in an attempt to create a financial nest egg for himself. Instead, he created Loves In Heat. Yes, he sometimes slept in his van down by the river. Yes, he liked it. That's the San Lorenzo River of Santa Cruz County, California. Read about it here:
